When are the DTLR Summer Block Parties?

Washington, DC – Saturday, July 30th | 3-7PM

Charlotte, NC – Saturday, August 20th | 3-7PM

What about the weather?

We do not anticipate bad weather.  However, as we get closer to the date we will announce a rain date here on our website and on our Instagram page @dtlrlifestyle.

What ages are allowed?

DTLR Summer Block Parties are designed for the entire family and are FREE of charge.  EVERYONE is welcome!

Where can I go to pick up lost items during and after the event?

During the event, lost items will be kept at the Information booth.  After the event, you will need to contact us at lifestyle@dtlr.com.

What time does the block party begin?

Each block party will be held from 3-7PM (ET).

Will alcohol be sold?

No alcohol will be sold at the events.

Will there be ATMs available?

Make sure to plan ahead of time.  ATM machines will not be available on site.

Do you need to be fully vaccinated to attend? Covid Test?

No, in accordance with current DC Health guidelines patrons are being asked to not to attend events if unfit or unwell and practice personal hygiene and risk assessments in attending the summer block parties. Masks and vaccinations are encouraged and welcome.

Do you offer any special hotel rates?

We do not.

How do I reserve parking?

DTLR will not provide any reserved parking for patrons.  Please plan your arrival accordingly.

Please be advised that there will be elevated security measures in place.  Please carefully check the list of prohibited items and plan accordingly.

We also suggest arriving early to allow extra time for screening if necessary.

What items ARE allowed inside the block party?

  • YES Mobile phones

  • YES Non-professional cameras (Go Pros & Flip Cams ok)

  • YES Baby strollers

  • YES Sunglasses and hats

  • YES Sunblock lotion (cream ok, no aerosol sprays)

  • YES CLEAR Bags, Fanny packs, and Hip bags UNDER 14” x 11” x 5” (single compartment bags only)

  • YES Clutch Purses / small Clutch Bags

  • YES Hydration packs, i.e. CamelBaks (Must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets)

  • YES Cigarettes (Must be sealed)

  • YES E-Cigs and Vape Pens (No AVP/Mods or Liquid Refills for Vapes

  • YES Lighters (NO Zippo’s)

  • YES Ear Plugs

  • YES Chapstick / Lip Balm (MUST BE SEALED)

  • YES Feminine Hygiene Items (MUST BE SEALED)

  • YES Eye Drops (MUST BE SEALED)

  • YES Hand Sanitizer and Baby Wipes Gum and mints

  • YES Makeup

  • YES Medication (Over-The-Counter medications are subject to guidelines)

  • YES Documented Service Animals (must have Paper Documentation)

  • YES Water Bottles (Empty, Plastic, Reusable, non-metal, 32 oz, 1 per guest)

Note: This list may be modified at any time and additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of law enforcement or security officials.

What items ARE NOT allowed inside the block party?

  • NO Firearms, ammunition, or weapons of any kind (including knives), will be permitted access into DTLR Summer Block Parties.

  • NO drones or UAV flying devices

  • NO Illegal substances drugs or drug paraphernalia of any kind **including Cannabis**

  • NO large bags or backpacks OVER 14” x 11” x 5” (single compartment bags only)

  • NO outside food or beverage

  • NO fireworks or explosives

  • NO aerosol products (including spray sunscreen, deodorant)

  • NO selfie sticks or tripods

  • NO sharpies, markers or paint pens

  • NO flyers, samples, giveaways or promotional Items

  • NO metal, steel or aluminum water bottles (empty, clear, plastic bottles ok)

  • NO chairs (including inflatables and beanbags)

  • NO blankets

  • NO coolers

  • NO air horns, noisemakers, Bluetooth/aux speakers or instruments

  • NO audio recording devices

  • NO laser pointers

  • NO hoverboards, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, or bikes (inside the block party)

  • NO pepper spray or mace

  • NO umbrellas/parasols

  • NO binoculars

  • NO radios or walkie talkies

  • NO tents

  • NO glass in any form

  • NO laptops, MacBook’s, or tablets

  • NO wallet chains or spiked clothing

  • NO Hi-Visibility Vests or any clothing that could be considered to imitate Event Staff uniform (for non-event staff), or Emergency Services

  • NO flags or totems

  • NO animals except for service animals assisting an individual with a disability. “Comfort,” “therapy” or “emotional support” animals do not meet the definition of a service animal and are not permitted entry to the Event.

ACCESIBILITY

Our bolck parties are committed to making the events accessible to everyone. The event is held outdoors.  There will be a special viewing area at the main stages for those with mobility limitations. An access center will be set up next to the information booth to assist at the event.  The booth will be staffed continuously by staff who can answer all questions.

 

 

What services do you provide for deaf/hard of hearing patrons?

Patrons with mobility impairments or Deaf/Hard of Hearing patrons can request an accessibility wristband at the Information Center. This wristband is to show DTLR Block Party staff members that the patron plus ONE companion is eligible to enter the accessible viewing areas. The accessibility wristband is non-transferrable.

If I am in a wheelchair, can I get around?

The DTLR Summer Block Parties are wheelchair accessible but they are large venue with great distances between activities and attractions. It is outdoors and across city streets and pathways. Some travel is over natural terrain and terrain designed for motor vehicles.

DTLR does not provide personal care, golf cart rides, or push services of any kind or wheelchairs for rent or loan. Wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed only for use by patrons with mobility disabilities. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Powered wheelchairs may also be charged at the Access Center. Patrons should bring all cords and accessories needed to charge their devices. Chargers must use a 110-volt, 20-amp circuit.

Accessible portable toilets are available at the ends of each bank of portable toilets throughout the festival venue.

Are services animals allowed?

Pets are not allowed within the summer block party grounds. However, service animals, which have been trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability, are welcome. If accompanied by a service animal, you will be provided a Patron Notice of Responsibility for a Service Animal.
